This month our Team Joy medical mission heads into Guatemala’s western highlands — free care for families who otherwise can’t easily reach a doctor. We’re also laying the groundwork for clean water and safer cookstoves in a new community, and celebrating students who have turned a chance to learn into their first jobs in technology.

Starting June 21, the Team Joy 2026 medical mission brings free care to families across the western highlands. Volunteers have spent weeks spreading the word through their communities — flyers, posters, and word of mouth — so every family who wants care knows it’s coming. Care begins in days, and it starts with people choosing to show up.

Three Students, Three First Jobs in Tech
Graduates of IEP’s MangoChango Academy are landing their first programming jobs — and supporting their families while they do it.

Fhares came in curious about technology but with almost no programming experience and no clear path. After graduating, he landed his first formal developer job at a fintech firm — work that now helps support his family while he studies.
