The people who
show up.
Medical professionals, educators, and everyday volunteers travel to Guatemala to serve alongside local communities — bringing time, willing hands, and heart to the work of lasting change.
Real change is carried by real people.
IEP's teams are the hands behind every healthier home, every patient treated, and every classroom strengthened. They come from many backgrounds — medical professionals, educators, and first-time volunteers — united by a willingness to show up and serve.
Each team works hand-in-hand with local partners and community members, so the work is grounded in real needs and built to last long after the team flies home.
A team is more than a group of volunteers. It is a shared promise — to a community, and to one another.IEP · Serving Together
Home Teams
Teams work alongside families to create healthier home environments — installing smoke-free stoves and clean-water filters that reduce daily risk and give families back time and health.
Medical Teams
Volunteer physicians, surgeons, and nurses run full one-week clinics and surgical centers, bringing care directly to communities with no other access to it.

Stay Connected
The relationship doesn't end at the airport. Many volunteers return, give, and carry the mission into their own communities.
There's a role for more people than you'd think.
You don't have to be a surgeon to make a difference. Teams need a wide range of skills and hands — and just as importantly, people willing to learn, work hard, and show up for one another.
If you don't see your exact background below, reach out anyway. The right place often isn't the obvious one.

Send a team. Or join one.
Every team is made possible by people who give — their time in the field, or their support from home. Both move the mission forward. Whichever way you show up, you make the next trip possible.
