Workplace Giving

Give a little every payday.

Payroll giving lets you support International Esperanza Project straight from your paycheck. You set the amount once, your employer handles the rest, and steady support reaches families in Guatemala month after month. Search your employer below to see whether your workplace offers it.

Check Your Employer
Set it once
Choose an amount per pay period. No renewal reminders, no expiring cards.
Programs can plan
School years, clinic schedules, and stove installations run on calendars. Predictable income lets us commit to them.
Often matched
Many employers match payroll gifts too, which can double every deduction automatically.
How Payroll Giving Works

Find your program

Use the search above, or ask your HR, payroll, or community giving team. Programs are often listed on an internal benefits portal.

Enroll and choose us

Search for International Esperanza Project by name or by EIN 81-5106545. Set your per-paycheck amount and confirm.

Your employer sends it

The deduction comes out of your pay and the platform forwards it to us, usually on a monthly or quarterly cycle.

Tell us you enrolled

This one matters. Workplace platforms often send gifts in bulk without donor names. A quick note keeps your giving connected to you.

Which Is Better For You
Option A

Payroll giving

  • Comes out automatically, so nothing lapses when a card expires
  • Frequently eligible for an employer match, which can double it
  • Some employers add a bonus or extra incentive for enrolled staff
  • Funds are usually pooled and sent on the platform's schedule, so the first gift can take weeks or months to arrive
  • Platforms generally deduct a processing fee before disbursing
  • Many platforms default to anonymous, which can leave us unable to thank you
Choose this if your employer matches payroll gifts. The match almost always outweighs the fee and the delay.
Option B

Monthly gift direct to IEP

  • Reaches programs quickly, on a predictable schedule
  • You stay fully identified, so we can thank you and report back
  • You can change or pause the amount yourself at any time
  • Your annual tax receipt comes straight from us
  • No employer match unless you separately submit a matching request
  • You are responsible for updating an expired card
Choose this if your employer does not match, or does not run a payroll program at all. You can still request a match afterward on our matching gifts page.

Two small things that make a large difference

Workplace giving platforms often send us a single combined payment covering many donors, and many donors are listed only as anonymous. When that happens we receive the gift but have no way to know it came from you. These two steps solve it.

During enrollment

Tick the box that shares your details

Most platforms offer an option along the lines of "share my name and contact information with this nonprofit." Selecting it is what lets us acknowledge your gift and send you a proper year-end summary.

Right after

Send us a two line note

Use the short form below, or email donor@i-ep.org. Tell us your employer and roughly what you set up. We will watch for it and follow up if it does not arrive.

What Your Enrollment Form Will Ask For

Organization Details

Copy these straight into your employer's giving portal. Searching by EIN is usually the most reliable method, because several organizations use similar names. If the portal asks for a category, International Esperanza Project is a public charity working in international relief, health, education, and community development.

Thank you. We will watch for it.

Our development team will match your enrollment to the payment when it arrives from your employer's platform, so your giving stays connected to you. If we need one more detail, we will email the address you gave. Questions in the meantime: donor@i-ep.org.

Enrolled in payroll giving? Let us know.

Because workplace platforms frequently send gifts in bulk and without donor names, this short form is the most reliable way to make sure your support is credited to you and acknowledged properly. It takes under a minute.

Please enter your first name.
Please enter your last name.
Please enter a valid email address.
Please enter your employer's name.

We use this only to credit and acknowledge your giving. We never sell or share donor information. See our privacy policy.

Questions
Is a payroll gift taken before or after tax?
In the United States, charitable payroll deductions come out of your pay after taxes. Your gift is still deductible in the ordinary way if you itemize, and your pay stubs together with your employer's annual statement are what the IRS looks for as substantiation. Rules differ outside the United States. We are not able to give tax advice, so please confirm your own situation with your tax adviser.
When will my first gift actually reach IEP?
Later than you might expect. Most workplace platforms collect deductions and disburse to nonprofits on a monthly or quarterly cycle, so there is normally a gap between your first deduction and the money arriving with us. This is normal and nothing has gone wrong. Telling us you enrolled lets us confirm when it lands.
Will I get a receipt from IEP?
It depends on how your employer's platform reports the gift. When the platform shares your details with us, we can acknowledge your giving directly. When it does not, your pay stubs and your employer's year-end statement are your record. This is exactly why we ask you to tick the information-sharing box and to send us a note.
Can I change or stop my deduction?
Yes, at any time, through the same portal where you enrolled. Payroll giving is never a pledge or a commitment, and there is no penalty for pausing or stopping.
What happens if I change jobs?
The deduction stops when you leave, since it runs through your employer's payroll. If you would like your support to continue without a gap, set up a monthly gift with us directly, then enroll again if your new employer offers a program.
Can I direct my payroll gift to a specific program?
Some platforms allow a note or designation and some do not. If you would like your giving directed toward homes, health, or education, tell us in the form above or email donor@i-ep.org and we will record your preference on your donor record.
Can my employer match my payroll gift?
Frequently, yes, and it is worth checking. Some programs apply the match automatically to every deduction, while others need a separate request. Our matching gifts page walks through how to find out and submit one.
How much of my gift reaches programs?
In our most recently filed Form 990, 81% of total expenses went directly to programs. Note that a workplace platform generally deducts its own processing fee before the gift reaches us, which is outside our control. Every figure we publish traces to a filed return, which you can read on our financials page.

Steady support changes what we can plan.

A school year runs nine months. A surgical mission is scheduled a year out. Recurring gifts, whether through your paycheck or directly through us, are what let our teams commit to those timelines with confidence.
