Workplace Giving

Your employer may double your gift.

Thousands of companies match the charitable gifts their employees make, often dollar for dollar. Search your employer below to find out whether yours does, what the limits are, and exactly how to submit a request. It usually takes about five minutes.

How Matching Works

Give to IEP

Make a gift online, by check, or through your workplace giving platform. Keep the receipt we email you. Most employers ask for it.

Search your employer

Use the search above to pull up your company's guidelines, eligibility rules, deadlines, and the link to its submission form.

Submit your request

Fill out your company's form. It will ask for our legal name, EIN, and address. All three are ready to copy further down this page.

We confirm the gift

Your employer verifies with us and sends the match directly. Tell us you submitted and we will follow it through to payment.

Thank you. We have it.

Our development team will watch for your employer's payment and follow up if anything is missing. If we need one more detail from you, we will email you at the address you gave. Questions in the meantime: donor@i-ep.org.

Submitted a match request? Tell us.

Employer matches often arrive months later as a corporate check with no reference to you. Letting us know closes that gap. We can confirm your gift with your employer faster, credit the match to you, and chase it if it stalls. This is optional, and it is the single most useful thing you can do after submitting.

Questions
Is there a deadline?
Yes, and it varies by company. Many employers require the request within 90 days to one year of the gift. A few close the window at the end of the calendar year. Your company's guidelines appear in the search results above.
Can retirees and spouses request a match?
Often, yes. A large number of programs extend to retirees, and some cover spouses and board members as well. The search results will say. It is worth checking even if you no longer work there.
My employer asks for proof of my donation. What do I send?
Send the emailed receipt you received from us. If you cannot find it, email donor@i-ep.org and we will reissue it. If your employer needs a signed verification form, send it to the same address and we will complete and return it.
Does a matching gift change my tax deduction?
Your deduction is based on what you gave, not on what your employer adds. The match is a separate charitable gift made by the company. We are not able to give tax advice, so please confirm your own situation with your tax adviser.
Are monthly and recurring gifts eligible?
Many programs match recurring gifts, sometimes as a single annual total rather than gift by gift. Check your company's guidelines, and tell us if you set up an annual request so we can watch for it.
I volunteer rather than give money. Is there anything for me?
Yes, and it is often overlooked. Many of the same employers pay a cash grant for hours their staff volunteer, and some offer paid time off to do it. If you have served on a team, staffed an event, or given professional time to IEP, our volunteer grants page covers how to claim it.
Can I give straight from my paycheck instead?
Often yes, and many of the same employers offer both. Payroll giving sets up an automatic deduction each pay period, and a good number of companies match those deductions too. Our payroll giving page covers how to check, how to enroll, and when it is the better choice.
What if my company is not in the search results?
The database is large but not complete, and smaller employers are frequently missing. Ask your HR or community giving team directly, then email donor@i-ep.org so we can help and get your employer added.
How much of a matched gift reaches programs?
The same share as any other gift. In our most recently filed Form 990, 81% of total expenses went directly to programs. Every figure we publish traces to a filed return, which you can read on our financials page.

Give first, then double it.

If you have not made your gift yet, start there. The match request takes about five minutes afterward, and it is the fastest way to send twice as much support to families in Guatemala.
