A Grant That Helped Bring Surgery Back to Hospital Corpus Christi

A generous grant from Prophet is helping International Esperanza Project® expand access to surgical care in Guatemala.

Through their support, Prophet provided a grant for two anesthesia machines, essential equipment that has allowed our surgical teams to return to Hospital Corpus Christi in Chimaltenango, a small hospital that serves as an important site for our surgical mission trips.

The new machines are already making a difference.

During Team Heart's recent surgical mission, our team returned to Hospital Corpus Christi and performed 31 surgeries, providing patients with access to procedures that can significantly improve their health and quality of life.

Among the patients were children who received surgery to correct strabismus, a condition that can affect vision and eye alignment. For these children and their families, access to specialized surgical care can mean more than a procedure. It can mean improved vision, greater confidence, and new opportunities for the future.

From Equipment to Impact

Medical equipment is only valuable when it can be put to work for patients. Thanks to Prophet's support, these two anesthesia machines are now being used by our surgical teams to provide care in a hospital where we can continue serving communities in need.

The return to Hospital Corpus Christi represents an important step in expanding our surgical program and reaching more patients who may otherwise face significant barriers to specialized healthcare.
