Meet Orfa: A Journey of Determination

Meet Orfa, one of the students in our "Bordado a Mano Tipo Patzún"  (Patzún Style Hand Embroidery course).

Every Wednesday, Orfa travels from San Lucas Tolimán, Sololá (a town in Lake Atitlán), to attend her class at the Esperanza Center.  She starts her travel at 5:00 a.m., ensuring she arrives on time for her 8:00 a.m. lesson.

Her commitment is a powerful reminder that when there is a desire to learn and build a better future, distance is not a barrier. Stories like Orfa's inspire us every day and reflect the determination of so many of our students, who invest their time, energy, and perseverance to develop new skills that can transform their lives and create new opportunities for their families.
