WOMEN’S DAY

EMPOWERING WOMEN AND GIRLS THROUGH EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES, HEALTHCARE AND COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE.

We are excited to celebrate Women's History Month and International Women’s Day by hosting our 4th Annual Women’s Day Event. Please join us for this inspiring event where we will hear from a panel of female leaders, dreamers, and doers.

At International Esperanza Project, we believe that no matter where you come from and what you do, you can use your talents to help others and impact the world.

We are thrilled to give women and men in Dallas and around the world the opportunity to come together to benefit the women and girls of Guatemala.

The event

INSPIRE HOPE. EMPOWER WOMEN.

International Esperanza Project's 4th Annual Women's Empowerment Event will take place at the Dallas Country Club on March 9, 2022, at 11:30 am. We will hear from a panel of inspiring women, and a short video will highlight some of the women who are benefiting from IEP's programs in Guatemala.

While in-person tickets are sold out, you can still join us for free over Zoom and support these women by purchasing raffle tickets below.

the panel

Our 2022, panelists include women from the fields of business, medical research, the arts, social entrepreneurship, and victim advocacy.

Every woman has a story of struggle and of opportunity, and, as we have seen with our panels from previous years, when a small group of diverse women share those stories with each other, and with the audience, the experience is magical.

HER STORY- MEET FLORENCIA

Florencia is one of 9 students who are continuing into the final two years of high school at IEP's El Molino School. This is HUGE in Guatemala, where the completion of this "Bachillerato" is almost the equivalent of an associates degree in the United States. Florencia and her high school classmates have benefited greatly from the leadership and anti-bullying training they have received from IEP. The high school girls have become a tight-knit group working together for the success of all.

With newfound confidence and the opportunity for education, Florencia feels she can reach for the stars as she sets goals for the future. She hopes to study clinical psychology and to help women recover from violence and other traumas.

HER STORY- MEET EVELIN

Evelin Susana's life, along with those of her entire family, has been changed for the better by IEP's programs. The twenty-five-year-old lives with her extended family in Tecpán, where the family home has been improved with an IEP smoke-free stove and clean water filter. Her husband is a day laborer in the nearby fields.

Evelin's two daughters, aged 4 and 2, are enrolled in El Molino School's pre-school. While all public school children in Guatemala have been learning remotely since 2020, with IEP's support, these two girls have had school supplies, books, special projects, and monthly food deliveries at home throughout the pandemic.

Evelin has jumped at the opportunity to improve her life with education through IEP's programs. She has been enrolled in Esperanza Trade Training Center sewing classes since last year and she receives classes in nutrition through IEP's partnership with Francisco Marroquin University's Nutrition school
