What You’ll Do:

  • Install stoves and water filters in homes.

  • Set up a clinic and provide access to medical care for locals.

  • Work at a local hospital performing life-changing surgeries.

  • Share encouragement and hope through personal connections.

The Impact We Leave Behind:

Our work ensures safer homes, better health, and brighter futures. Volunteers bring hope and lasting solutions to families and communities.

The Story:

Team Hope embarks yearly on a journey to Guatemala—an adventure filled with purpose, transformation, and hope. As IEP’s largest team, we arrive with a mission: to bring lasting change, touch lives, and make a real difference. From the moment we step off the plane, we know this will be more than just a trip—it’s a chance to be a beacon of hope for communities in need.

Throughout the week, we immerse ourselves in projects that span across every pillar of IEP. The team splits between three departments in Guatemala. Team Hope sets up a clinic and hospital in Retalhuleu to offer medical care and perform life-changing surgeries. We have a team installing stoves and water filters in homes, improving health and safety for families in Chimaltenango and Sololá. Lastly, a team that builds amazing projects that make a long-lasting impact on our communities of Tecpán.

The impact of our efforts is palpable, but it’s the personal connections we forge that truly make the difference. Each conversation, each smile, each moment spent with the locals is a reminder of the importance of hope and compassion in our world.

When the day’s work ends, gather together with your team to share meals, laughter, and stories. Nights are filled with lighthearted moments, from friendly games to spontaneous karaoke, and we always find time to connect and reflect on the incredible work we’re doing.

Come be part of something truly transformative. Whether it’s building a stove for a family, assisting in a life-changing surgery, or offering words of encouragement to someone who needs it, your time here will be full of moments that will stay with you forever. The breathtaking beauty of Guatemala will inspire you, the incredible people will move you, and the work you do will remind you that we’re all connected by our shared humanity. And when it’s time to say goodbye, you’ll leave with a heart full of gratitude—and a desire to return again and again.
