Who We Are

Real change is carried by real people.

IEP's teams are the hands behind every home built, every patient treated, and every classroom strengthened. They come from many backgrounds — medical professionals, tradespeople, educators, and first-time volunteers — united by a willingness to show up and serve.

Each team works hand-in-hand with local partners and community members, ensuring the work is grounded in real needs and built to last long after the team flies home.

A team is more than a group of volunteers. It is a shared promise — to a community, and to one another.

How Teams Serve
01
Impacting Homes

Build Teams

Construction-focused teams work alongside families to build safe, dignified homes — replacing dirt floors, leaking roofs, and unsafe walls with something families can rely on.

02
Impacting Health

Medical Teams

Volunteer physicians, surgeons, and nurses run full one-week clinics and surgical centers, bringing care directly to communities with no other access to it.

What Joining Looks Like
1

Connect

Reach out and tell us about your skills, interests, and the kind of work that moves you. There's a place for many backgrounds.

2

Prepare

We help you get ready — logistics, expectations, and how your role fits the team and the community you'll serve.

3

Serve

Travel to Guatemala and work side-by-side with local partners and community members on real, needed projects.

4

Stay Connected

The relationship doesn't end at the airport. Many volunteers return, give, and carry the mission into their own communities.

Who Joins a Team

There's a role for more people than you'd think.

You don't have to be a surgeon to make a difference. Teams need a wide range of skills and hands — and just as importantly, people willing to learn, work hard, and show up for one another.

If you don't see your exact background below, reach out anyway. The right place often isn't the obvious one.
